Reign: A Soundtrack to Our Journey

Today feels significant.

It marks the release of Reign, the latest single by BoThai, an artist who has been part of Imaginative Reaction since the very beginning. BoThai was one of the first artists to join the platform when it was just an idea taking its earliest steps, and seeing her release this track today feels deeply full-circle.

Reign holds a particularly personal meaning for me. Just over a year ago, BoThai generously allowed me to use this track in a film I was creating, a film that would later be screened as part of Nick Fraser's debut Chapter 1 exhibition.

For those of you who attended, you may already know this song… perhaps without realising it. BoThai’s live performance on the opening night of Chapter 1 offered a moment of stillness within the exhibition. Her voice moved gently through the space, echoing the emotional undercurrent already present. Reign played throughout the film, quietly beneath narration and Nick’s own words as he reflected on his artistic journey and life experiences. It became part of the emotional fabric of the exhibition, holding space rather than demanding attention.

At the time, I spent many hours listening to this track. It was a deeply personal and emotional period, and Reign became a constant presence, something grounding, something reflective.

Music has a way of embedding itself into moments, and now, hearing it released into the world, it carries me through the past, the present, and into the future of everything that has been built since.

Beyond Reign, it has been a genuine pleasure to collaborate with Bothai across multiple moments in her creative journey. From supporting her showcases and live events, to spending time together in the studio recording and shaping her work, each collaboration has been rooted in trust, creativity, and shared belief in the process. Those quieter, behind-the-scenes moments, often unseen... are just as important as the finished work, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of them.

This release is a reminder of why this platform exists. To support artists at every stage. To honour creative journeys as they unfold, and to recognise the quiet, powerful moments that shape who we become along the way.

"I wrote this piano instrumental when moving through a time of grief and a major life transitions. At the time I listened to alot of Ludovico Einaudi, who is a big inspiration for my creativity, which I feel can be felt through the music.

The track title Reign felt right as it reminded me of my sovereign power to transform the heaviness I was feeling into something creative and that spoke from my heart.

So I pray that this track also does the same for listeners who are moving in that space. To also release Reign on the day of winter solstice, the longest night of the year, a time of deep introspection. As nature sheds her leaves, we too are invited to shed old ways of being."

Today, Reign stands as a soundtrack to what has already been achieved, and to everything still to come.
