Max Lembke
Watercolour | Digital Illustration | Acrylics
Max Lembke first became interested in art in 1970, joining an art club in Greenford, West London. Max felt he had a talent to explore in the arts. Then for the next few years he trained in live models and still life.
My Story
After a few years his design genius as an Engineer and Designer took over took over for the next 30 years. On retiring he then decided he had the time to fulfil his earlier unfulfilled dreams. It has been his passion ever since.
Max is one of the Unknown and Unsung heroes of this world having invented the multi bladed disposable razor which has since been sold by the billion throughout the world.
His Inspiration comes in many ways, a trick of the light, an interesting shape or form, an eye for beauty extending through the human form to landscapes and wildlife.
He as always like to explore different techniques. For example, the combination of the technology
of a photographic image being modified by painting over it with an app like Procreate where you
combine the two mediums of digital art and photography to create a new art form.
His favourite mediums are water colours, Digital media, and recently Acrylics as he now enjoys the
colour and vibrancy of the medium.

“I haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet Max in person, but I’m deeply grateful to be able to share his work. Max has been involved in art for longer than I’ve been alive, and it feels a genuine honour to offer him a platform for his practice. We connected through my recent adventures meeting a radio-controlled yacht club, where a friend of his asked if I would take a look at his work and see if I could help in any way. What I discovered was a unique and unsung story, paired with a beautiful and diverse body of work.
Max’s journey.. from early artistic training, through decades of design and engineering innovation, and back to art with renewed passion, is one that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and shared.”of a photographic image being modified by painting over it with an app like Procreate where you combine the two mediums of digital art and photography to create a new art form."
