Chapter 2 of the Nick Fraser Estate arrives in the heart of the East End, a place that has always belonged to the creators, the grafters, the outsiders and the visionaries. A place built on resilience, community and culture born from real life.

As curator and friend of the Nick Fraser, I could not think of a more meaningful setting for this next chapter than Shoreditch and the streets Nick walked.
Nick Fraser’s work came from lived experience, from struggle, humour, emotion, working-class identity and the beauty found within imperfect realities. His art never asked for permission to exist. It connected with people because it was honest, raw and deeply human. That authenticity is why the work continues to resonate so powerfully within the outsider art movement.

The East End has always represented something bigger than geography. It represents generations of people who built culture from the ground up, dock workers, immigrants, musicians, artists, market traders and rebels who transformed adversity into creativity. Nick himself was part of that story. Whilst creating his body of work, he worked at the Tate & Lyle factory, a symbol of London’s industrial working-class history and the very spirit that shaped so much of his perspective and creative voice. His art carried the honesty of someone who understood hard work, routine, struggle and survival, and that truth remains embedded in every piece.
Bringing the estate back to the East End feels like bringing the work home.

We are also incredibly grateful to be presenting Chapter 2 at Shoreditch Arts Club, a space that stands for independent creativity, collaboration and cultural exchange. Shoreditch Arts Club is more than a venue. It is a meeting place for artists, thinkers, collectors and communities who believe art should challenge, connect and inspire. Their support and belief in this vision means a great deal to us, and we are honoured to use the space to continue sharing Nick Fraser’s legacy with London and beyond.
We are also incredibly excited to welcome back the immensely talented BoThai, who will be performing live during the evening as part of Chapter 2. BoThai’s music carries the same emotional honesty, atmosphere and raw creative spirit that sits at the heart of Nick Fraser’s work, making this collaboration feel both natural and deeply meaningful. Bringing together live music and visual art within the setting of the East End creates something far beyond a traditional exhibition, it becomes an experience rooted in culture, connection and expression. We are honoured to have BoThai return and help soundtrack such an important moment for the estate.
One of the most important parts of this journey has been understanding just how many extraordinary artists exist outside the traditional systems of the art world, artists with immense talent, powerful stories and unique perspectives, yet often without representation, opportunity or support. Through my journey curating and representing Nick Fraser’s work, it became clear that there needed to be something bigger than a single exhibition or estate. That journey ultimately led to the creation of Imaginative Reaction, a platform and initiative dedicated to supporting artists who face many of the same barriers and circumstances Nick once did. The mission is simple: to create visibility, opportunity and long-term support for overlooked creative voices whose work deserves to be seen, valued and preserved.
This next chapter also marks a major milestone for the estate itself.
For the very first time, limited edition prints and selected artworks from the Nick Fraser collection will be made available worldwide. This is something we are deeply proud of, opening the doors for supporters, collectors and admirers across the globe to own and connect with a piece of Nick’s extraordinary legacy.
The mission has always been bigger than preservation alone.
It is about ensuring that Nick Fraser’s voice continues to reach new audiences. That the stories within the work continue to be seen.
The past shaped the work.
The present gives it new meaning.
The future ensures it lives on.
To everyone who has supported this journey so far, thank you.
Chapter 2 begins now.
