It was such a pleasure meeting this lovely creative at Adrian Wildsmith’s recent residency. She came along to see Adrian’s work, say hello. In that conversation, I asked about her own artwork and what she makes. Jenny shared that she has only recently started calling herself an artist rather than “a mum who paints occasionally” For me, that made it all the more important to say: let’s get your work out there and let people see what you’ve made.

What I love is that her creativity does not sit in just one place. It runs through her whole life, through painting, crochet, knitting, patchwork, and the care and imagination she brings into both her home and garden. Even her local community has felt the warmth of her making through the crochet toppers she has created for two local post boxes.

 

Her house, as she says, is full of her creativity, and now it feels the right time for that creativity to be seen more widely. I’m really pleased to share her artistic profile and celebrate the beginning of her journey in confidently stepping forward and saying: I am an artist.
