My Story
As a curator and filmmaker, O'Shaughnessy has dedicated himself to sharing Fraser's profound journey and artwork with the world, ensuring that the legacy of this hidden master is finally recognised. Beyond his curatorial and filmmaking pursuits, O'Shaughnessy is also an accomplished creative seascape artist, with a passion for landscape and gardening.
His artistic sensibilities and deep connection to the natural world are evident in his work, mirroring the same intensity and contemplation found in Fraser's paintings.

For over three decades, Mark O'Shaughnessy quietly and faithfully documented the life and work of his dear friend, Nick Fraser. With a humble camcorder in hand and an instinctive eye for capturing meaningful moments, Mark preserved an invaluable archive that would one day serve as the foundation for Nick Fraser: Chapter 1 — the artist’s debut exhibition and cinematic tribute.
The footage, now lovingly compiled and edited by Mark’s son Marcus, provides a rare and intimate window into Nick’s world: his East London flat-turned-studio, his reflections on art and identity, and the soulful bond between two friends united by creativity and compassion. Mark’s role as documentarian is more than technical — it is emotional, spiritual, and essential to the preservation of Nick’s legacy.
